Scheme of SSC CGL Examination

The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers:

  • Tier-I
  • Tier-II

Marks scored in multiple shifts will be normalized according to the Commission's formula. There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores.

Scheme of Tier-I Examination

  • Type of Questions: Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions in English & Hindi (except English Comprehension)
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 for each wrong answer
  • Duration: 1 hour (1 hour and 20 minutes for candidates eligible for a scribe)
  • Normalization: Marks will be normalized using the formula published by the Commission.

  • Paper-I is compulsory for all posts.
  • Paper-II is for candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II, who are shortlisted in Tier-I.
