About the Jobs
Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, is hiring! They need 9,970 Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) to help run trains across India. If you’re from Assam or anywhere else and meet the rules, you can apply online for this exciting job!
Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP)
- A. Total Posts: 9,970
- B. Posts in RRB Guwahati: 30
- C. Salary: Rs. 19,900/- starting pay (Level 02 of 7th CPC) plus allowances
- D. Age Limit: Between 18 and 30 years as on 1st July 2025
- E. Age Relaxation:
- OBC-NCL: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- F. Education Needed:
- Class 10 (Matriculation/SSLC) plus ITI in trades like Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic Diesel, etc. from NCVT/SCVT
- OR Class 10 plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in above trades
- OR 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering
- OR Combination of these Engineering streams from a recognized institution
- Note: Engineering Degree in these fields is also accepted instead of Diploma
Physical and Medical Requirements
You must be fit to become an Assistant Loco Pilot:
- A. Medical Standard: A1 (highest level)
- B. Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit in all ways
- C. Vision Requirements:
- Distant Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses (fogging test: must not accept +2D)
- Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 without glasses
- Must pass tests for Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision, Night Vision, Mesopic Vision
Application Fee
You need to pay a fee to apply:
- A. For SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/PWD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward: Rs. 250/-
- B. For Others: Rs. 500/-
- C. Refund Note: Rs. 250/- fee will be refunded (after bank charges) for those who appear in the First Stage CBT
