Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam has released two employment notifications for the recruitment of 1487 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) Vacancy in different Government and Provincialized Secondary Schools under the Secondary Education Department, Govt. of Assam. Post Name: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)
No of Posts: 1487 posts
- Government Secondary School: 102 posts
- Provincialized Secondary School: 1385 posts
Pay Scale: Rs. 22,000 / - to 97,000 /- including Grade Pay of Rs. 11,800 /- PM

Eligibility Criteria of DSE Assam Recruitment
Age Limit: A candidate must be between 21 and 38 years of age as on 1st January 2023.
Age Relaxation: The upper age relaxation will be as follows:
- OBC/MOBC: 3 Years
- ST/SC: 5 Years
- Ex-Servicemen: 2 Years
- PWD: 10 Years
Educational Qualification: The applicant must be a Post Graduate in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks and should possess a B.Ed. qualification from an institution recognized by NCTE. Degrees obtained via off-campus and distance education modes shall not be considered.
Small Family Norms: No person having more than two living children after 01.01.2021 shall be eligible for appointment as per Govt. policy.
Employment Exchange Registration: The candidate's name must be registered in an Employment Exchange.
Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test: The candidate must pass the Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test to be notified later.
Medium of Instruction Criteria
- Assamese Medium School: Passed HSLC with Assamese as one subject or a diploma from Assam Sahitya Sabha.
- Bengali Medium School: Passed HSLC with Bengali or a diploma from Barak Upatyaka Bangya Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan.
- Hindi Medium School: Passed HSLC with Hindi or studied in a Hindi medium school.
- Bodo Medium School: Passed HSLC with Bodo or studied in a Bodo medium school.
- English Medium School: Passed HSLC with alternative English or studied from Class XI onwards in English medium.
Physical Fitness:
The candidate must be mentally and physically fit and free from any defect or infirmity. Medical examination required before appointment.
