Assam High School Teacher Recruitment 2023
- Assam's Directorate of Secondary Education has announced recruitment for 7755 Graduate Teacher positions.
- The positions are available in government and provincialized secondary schools in the state.
- Out of the total posts, 255 are reserved for government secondary schools and 7500 are reserved for provincialized secondary schools.
- The vacancies are categorized into Arts, Science, Hindi, and Sanskrit, with specific numbers yet to be updated.
- The selected candidates will be paid a monthly salary of Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500, including a Grade Pay of Rs.8,700 and other allowances.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam High School Teacher Recruitment
- Nationality: Candidates must be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
- Age Limit: Candidates' age should be between 18 to 40 years as on 01.01.2022.
- Age Relaxation: The upper age limit will be relaxed for OBC/MOBC candidates by 3 years, for ST/SC candidates by 5 years, for Ex-Servicemen by 2 years, and for PwD candidates by 10 years.
Educational Qualification
Graduate Teacher (Arts & Science) :
Arts / Commerce Graduate or Post Graduate in Arts / Commerce having from recognized University with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from National Council for Teacher Education recognized Institution(s).
Science Graduate or Post Graduate in Science having from recognized University with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from National Council for Teacher Education recognized Institution(s).
60% marks in each paper for UR category and 55% marks for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H) and PwD category required in Secondary TET.
Graduate Teacher (Hindi)
Pravin / Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks and degree qualification with 50% marks or post Graduate degree in Arts with 50% marks from any recognized University.
BA with 50% marks and having Hindi as one of the subjects with 50% marks or post Graduate in Arts with 50% marks provided that he has passed BA with one of the subjects as Hindi with 50% marks in Hindi.
B.T / B.Ed. degree from any recognized University.
60% marks in each paper for UR category and 55% marks for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H) and PwD category required in Secondary TET.
Graduate Teacher (Sanskrit)
Shastri with 50% marks and having degree qualification with 50% marks or post Graduate degree in Arts with 50% marks from any recognized University.
BA with 50% marks and having Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% of marks or Post Graduate Degree in Arts with 50% marks in Sanskrit.
B.T. / B.Ed. degree from any recognized University.
60% marks in each paper for UR category and 55% marks for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H) and PwD category required in Secondary TET.
Note: Degrees / diplomas conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University shall be considered as valid for the purpose of employment.
Medium of Instruction
i) Assamese Medium School requires HSLC or equivalent examination passed with Assamese Language as a subject or Diploma in Assamese Language or read up to HSLC level in Assamese Medium School.
ii) Bengali Medium School requires HSLC or equivalent examination passed with Bengali Language as a subject or Diploma in Bengali Language or read up to HSLC level in Bengali Medium School.
iii) Hindi Medium School requires HSLC or equivalent examination passed with Hindi Language as a subject or read up to HSLC level in Hindi Medium School.
iv) Bodo Medium School requires HSLC or equivalent examination passed with Bodo Language as a subject or read up to HSLC level in Bodo Medium School.
v) English Medium School requires HSLC or equivalent examination passed with Alternative English as a subject or read from Class XI onwards in English Medium School.
