Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam has released two employment notifications for the recruitment of 4500 posts of Assistant Teacher in Lower and Upper Primary Schools of Assam. Candidates who are Indian Citizens, permanent residents of Assam, and qualified in the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) can apply online.

- Name of Posts: Assistant Teacher (LP) & Assistant Teacher (UP)
- Total Posts: 4500
- Lower Primary: 2900 posts
- Upper Primary: 1600 posts
- Department: Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam
- Pay Scale: Pay Band - 2 (PB-2) Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- plus Grade Pay and other allowances.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Permanent Resident of Assam
- Age Limit: 18 to 40 years as on 1st January 2025
- Age Relaxation:
- Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
- PwD: 10 years
- Qualification: Candidates must have passed Assam TET or CTET
- Educational Qualification:
- Assistant Teacher (LP): HS or equivalent with 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Assistant Teacher (UP): Graduate + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed
- Science Teacher (UP): B.Sc. + Diploma or B.Ed
- Hindi Teacher (UP): Graduate with Hindi as a subject + Diploma or B.Ed
