In a significant move to empower the youth of Assam, Hon'ble Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya launched a special financial assistance program on 17th September, 2024. This initiative is focused on aspirants preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. The scheme aims to provide financial aid and coaching to deserving candidates, helping them in their journey to become civil servants.
The scheme will support 512 students (12 via direct mode and 500 via online mode), offering necessary guidance and resources to succeed in both the Prelims and Mains of the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Selection Process
- Screening Process: Based on Class 12th and Graduation marks, top 5,000 aspirants will be eligible for the screening test.
- Screening Test locations: Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, and Bongaigaon.
- The screening test will be OMR-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and a Descriptive Essay.
- Syllabus: Same as UPSC CSE Prelims.
- Duration: 2 hours for MCQs and 30 minutes for the Descriptive Essay.
- Results will be declared online.
- Group Counselling & Personal Interview: Top 600 aspirants will attend a group counselling session at Guwahati, after which the top 50 will go for personal interviews. Out of these, 12 will be selected for fully funded direct coaching.
- Remaining candidates will be connected to the online coaching program.
